Children from Rushen Primary School have recently attended the Southern Civic Amenity Site on Castletown Road, Port St Mary to formally name the site's new waste handler.
Each of the primary schools in the South were invited to submit names for the site's new JCB 20MH machine for the Board to choose from.
Chair of the Board Mr Jerry Ludford-Brooks commented, "The Board had a tough task whittling down the great name suggestions from each of the schools but having shortlisted several names, the Board finally agreed on the name "Tidy Tilly" which had been suggested by Rushen Primary School."
Children from Rushen Primary School attended the site for a formal naming ceremony including cutting the ribbon before watching a demonstration of Tidy Tilly in action.
