The Southern Civic Amenity Site Board has proudly unveiled four murals at its site on Castletown Road, Port St Mary.
Each of the primary schools in the South were invited to submit a mural based upon the sustainability theme "reduce, reuse, recycle". Submissions from Victoria Road, Ballasalla, Scoill Phurt le Moirrey and Rushen Primary Schools have been mounted on the walls opposite the entrance to the site.
Chair of the Board, Mr Jerry Ludford-Brooks commented, "The Board is delighted that the murals are now taking pride of place at the site. It has been an absolute joy to see the submissions from the schools and how the children have embraced the opportunity. With around 10,000 visitors to the site every month, the murals will be seen by a huge number of people and will bring a fantastic splash of colour. It is important to engage with the children on the topic of sustainability and it is reassuring to see that the murals have certainly captured that."
